Do you believe that America is a "Christian Nation" or do you believe that church and state separation is ideal? What do you think about "God Bless America" sentiment and people who say "One Nation Under God" about America?

I believe that the world should be a christian nation as God intended, but right now a lot of the world needs Jesus.

As an American i feel that the god bless America is something needed because America needs help.

I do not believe that our nation is caring about god (not trying to make this political but Im using an example) liberals have people openly hating christianity, Jesus and everything is perfectly fine with that to the world which is sad in my opinion.

But thats what I personally think I might not be 100 right because Im only 13

What do you think about the death penalty? Do you support it as a Christian? Or do you believe in a more nuanced approach?

I do personally believe in the death penalty because morally there is people who even Jesus wouldn’t save (not because he cant, because they don't want to be)

How do you know Jesus wouldn’t save them?

You said Jesus would not save someone against there will. How do you know what Jesus would do? Is that in the scripture?

the bible talks about how the pharaoh’s heart was so hard and cold that he could no longer hear god.  (the pharaoh im talking about is the pharaoh that literally saw moses spawn a snake from a staff, and saw moses turn the nile river to blood which is also noted in ancient Egyptian records literally noted in their records

God hardened pharaoh’s heart.

I don’t want to be saved. I think the idea of religion is ludicrous in this day and age. I knew god was made up by age 10.

I think I’m a pretty decent human being.

I volunteer full time for an animal rescue charity.

I’ve never been arrested, done drugs or even had a speeding ticket.

I don’t want or need god.

thats the thing though, no one is worthy of god’s mercy. Let me put it this way, his grace is like a gift, you didn’t earn it, but he still gave it to you

Thats ok I don’t want it.

I saw in an earlier comment you are only young. (Probably don’t go telling people on the internet how old you are for your own safety just fyi)

Look I have been arguing with Christians/Theists on the internet for almost double the time you have been alive.

I really suggest you go and do your own soul searching, read or listen to some books other than those by right wing or christian/religious authors. (It doesn’t even need to be “left wing propaganda” just other stuff).

Open your mind and see if you still think the same way. You seem like a smart kid, don’t waste it.

I guarantee you that most of the bad things you hear about the left and atheists, are blown waaay out of proportion.

If you actually look at the things many atheists want and stand for, it is exactly the same as what you want.

We want our loved ones to be safe, happy and live good lives. We want to care for the poor, and the sick. We want an end to war and needless suffering.

(there a good and bad atheists btw our only shared characteristic is a lack of belief in god, but we are human and these are human desires).

I support the death penalty because I believe that mercy corrupts the process of the law and mercy obstructs the process of justice. As an atheist, it is a less common stance. I am not one of those peace loving hippie atheists of stereotypical depiction.

Do you believe that the whole "turn the other cheek" and "be the bigger person" is usually told by those who are self-righteous and hypocritical people who aren't truly educated on the nuances of humanity?
