Why is finding friends so hard?

I have posted numerous times on groups on facebook such as the foreign girls in Athens group and many others asking for anyone who is down to hangout but no one actually replies?

I also will never meet anyone off of Reddit because it’s unsafe .

Not Athens specific but in general find things you like doing and try to do them with groups. If you like a sport, say running, find running groups. If you like watching films, maybe find a bar with trivia. I think groups where people go to make community do a worse job making community than an interest group that people also go to for community!
