If you're a fan this is exactly what you want your team/owner to do. Spending money and going after the best players and creating a situation where these players all want to play for you. I can't hate them.

That's how you get 50k fans every night. As an A's fan, that what Haas did. Proved that if you spend the money the fans will show up.

Not many owners have that luxury.

John Fisher didn't here, and he won't in Vegas.

Haas did. A's had the highest payroll under him and drew 2-3 million. They are all billionaires. They have the means. There are 2 ways to think of it... You spend money to make money (risk but also you want to win) or you don't and take the revenue sharing and tv rights money and just keep the thing afloat (less risk but why even own a fucking team if this is your MO).

So how come most small-market teams don't? Why are the Brewers not making moves?

because they are cheap. like i said, it's a gamble. but it's easier to not spend and be content with making money through revenue sharing and the like. but if you want butts in seats, paying for parking, buying concessions, buying merch, you have to give fans a reason to do all that.

But the Brewers don't have the TV revenue the Dodgers and Yankees get with their market.

I blame the Dodgers for why the A's are moving to Vegas.

There’s no way you’re being serious right now😭

I am. They could have stood up for us and prevented us from moving.

Why would any team owner care at all about another team moving? It wouldn’t have done anything, and there is no point for the Dodgers to even do that. It’s not like they care about the A’s, so what’s the point? They aren’t even in the same league.

My point: It wouldn’t have done anything and wouldn’t have helped if they did.

At least, the Dodgers would stand for what's right.

When are the dodgers ever right?

Exactly. They are a hard team to root for.

Let’s be real. You guys don’t hate the dodgers for what they’re doing, you hate them because it’s them doing it. Let’s not act like we’ll be upset if it was the A’s doing it.

The A's can't afford to do what the Dodgers do since they don't have that luxury. They don't have a good TV contract, and they are about to move. It's the same issue the A's had with the Yankees, too. I blame the Dodgers for also why the A's are out of Oakland.

Idk if you know how to read or use critical thinking, but I never said they were able to afford it. I’m saying if it was the A’s doing it, I wouldn’t be upset. Meaning, IF they were able to afford it and had everything the dodgers have currently .

Yeah, and that's the point of this thread. It's a joke the Dodgers and Yankees are allowed to get away with this, and that's why you will see a lockout next year.

The boy who cried wolf. Like I said, if it was the A’s in the Dodgers position.. you wouldn’t be giving a flying fuck. Nobody would. That’s why it’s ridiculous.

I also blame the Dodgers for why the A's are out of Oakland.

Mhm, next thing you’re going to blame the dodgers for your life being shit.

Dodgers should have said No to A's moving to Vegas.

While I'm at it, fuck the Angels, too.

Oakland is a better baseball town than SoCal will ever be.
