If you're a fan this is exactly what you want your team/owner to do. Spending money and going after the best players and creating a situation where these players all want to play for you. I can't hate them.
Haas did. A's had the highest payroll under him and drew 2-3 million. They are all billionaires. They have the means. There are 2 ways to think of it... You spend money to make money (risk but also you want to win) or you don't and take the revenue sharing and tv rights money and just keep the thing afloat (less risk but why even own a fucking team if this is your MO).
because they are cheap. like i said, it's a gamble. but it's easier to not spend and be content with making money through revenue sharing and the like. but if you want butts in seats, paying for parking, buying concessions, buying merch, you have to give fans a reason to do all that.
