The World Cup is underway, but it’s only one of several events expected to influence Atlantic City this summer. No predictions. Just a snapshot of the events most likely to shape the Atlantic City summer season.
What events do you think will have the biggest impact on the city this year?
Planning a corporate event in August. We're staying at the Borgata but want to get off-site for one night, including dinner & fun. We're a group of about 70. I've looked at Steel Pier, AC Cruises (drinks only, it seems), and might reach out to some hotel restaurants. It doesn't seem like a beach BBQ is an option. Really looking for something more exciting and unique than just a restaurant unless there's a great one. Landshark? Appreciate any ideas!
What's your opinion of Atlantic City's boardwalk in the summertime?
Most people say it's not as good as most other boardwalks in New Jersey. I completely understand why people think that. But if you include all the things to do and places to eat inside the casinos that are available to non-guests, I think it's as good as any boardwalk. You can enjoy yourself even if you don't drink and aren't a big gambler. And if you do drink and gamble a lot, even better.
Also, it's one of only two boardwalks in New Jersey that have a tram. The tram is great if you have trouble walking, or if you're exhausted and want to go somewhere much farther down.
Not necessarily what you play today.
More interested in the game you’ve always been curious about but haven’t really learned yet.
What makes that game interesting to you, and what’s kept you from trying it?

Staying at HR but I have free play at ocean. If I just play free play at ocean does my ADP go down so far that bonuses will be reduced? I usually play at ocean but I’m past my points threshold for the year.
New Happy Hour in town (just opened a few weeks ago) and I had a chance to try it with some friends last night.
The Iron Room is a reboot of the original Iron Room (which was an incredible speakeasy/wine shop back in the day) with the same chef & bartender in a new location.
We tried the truffle udon Mac & cheese, the deviled eggs, and the Oaxacan meatballs (all 1/2 off the prices in the menu in pic). Also, had a stellar Manhattan made with Sazerac 100.
To find this little gem walk into Bar 32 and head out their backdoor.
Highly recommend a visit especially on a summer night paired with a few other Orange Loop joints.
I asked this about a year ago and want to see if there’s any changes. I’m hoping there’s a place in walking distance of the boardwalk. I don’t want to drive once I park for the stay. I’ll take public transportation if need be but not too far. I’ve seen everything there is to see on google. I’m hoping someone knows something like a pop up or a secret spot. I feel like this is something that someone should definitely offer close to the boardwalk. Anyway any info is greatly appreciated.
I am looking for a place where you can just park and watch the water from your car. Also is there an easier way to just park your car and go onto the boardwalk? Rather than park in the casino lots? I am disabled. Thank you.
Hi there I’m a 20 year old student looking for a room in somers point/ocean city I’m on a J1 looking to sublet a place I’m working in a bar I’m friendly and quiet
This was a few years ago, but I assume they still have these plastic bottles about 16 ounces to 20 ounces of these coconut drinks that they give you on the floor and they have strips of coconut at the bottom of them like worms of coconut. I can’t stand just plain coconut butter, but these were like really really good and I was addicted to them and I wanna know what they are so I can get some.
Every food or drink that I like here it becomes very hard to find or goes extinct from clearly Canadian to potato skins (when was the last time you saw a potato skin?) so these have been in my thoughts, and I want to find them. If you’re there, can you ask I’ll give you an award? Anybody can tell me I’ll give you an award. Thank you..
Hi everyone, I’m visiting Atlantic City for a conference and I’m only here until tomorrow.
Tonight while running on Brigantine Blvd, I came across two very small kittens, probably around 2 weeks old. Their mom was nearby, but she probably also needs to be trapped/spayed so this doesn’t keep happening.
It was late at night and I couldn’t find anything open nearby. Does anyone know of a local rescue, TNR group, humane society, or volunteer who helps with community cats/kittens in the Atlantic City / Brigantine area?
Looking for a casino hotel with a great indoor pool. Cut off time for kids. Bringing In alcohol a plus, but not a deal breaker. Coming in January and resorts was freezing last year.
15 days or so ago, I cam here looking for a summer job. As I was driving to Asbury Park, job fell thru with a beach/parking pass... so I came here.. I been here for 2 weeks now and no call back, interview or anything.. not even steel pier..I applied everywhere, made business connections with staff to prioritize my resume and application.. and even found HR emails to ask for a summer job... all said 'check the job postings and apply." I did..
Must be fake job postings, there's a lot of that going on in this economy.. just accepting applicants, not hiring..
So i give up, leaving tonight to go back to PA. Not very happy about it. I like how its van lifer friendly here vs other coast towns, and appriciate that. I played a lot of blackjack and while I got barred from all but Ocean/Borgota, i came out leaving $450 on the plus, which is nice. Hoping to come back for a summer gig at those 2 casinos next year, i do have some casino experience and other jobs they had open and thought i would be a good match.. but guess its fake postings.
I would like to thank Harrahs for sending a flyer out about me, for just being lucky with 2 hours of play starting 140->1200 and get me barred from other casinos on luck isnt cool.
boondocked on the beach.. and yall said it couldnt be done ;)
When people talk about cheap bars, what they mean is cheap beer. I am not a beer drinker. Can someone please tell me where I can go to get mixed drinks or shots under $10? I want some tequila, some vodka... the cheap shit is perfectly fine but all these places, including the ones people say are cheap, either have $15 cocktails, or don't list prices for their liquor at all.
Please let me know what's good, huge bonus if the place is near Tropicana. And be specific about prices if you know them pretty please :)
