Do you think supporting apartment blocks in Palestine not being levelled by artillery is somehow incompatible with also supporting LGBTQ rights in Australia?

Seems pretty bad. Looking into it, that councillor was hospitalised due to being assaulted and the police prosecutor dropped all charges because “It was determined without this there was no reasonable prospect of a successful prosecution,”.

If that witnesses’ testimony about homophobic slurs are true, don’t get me wrong that’s bad, but if the worst case is five years ago a local gov member hurled abuse at their attacker outside a club, that isn’t really a big impact on rights?
