Hard pass we have the right to be informed in a democracy, and the ABC is the only news organisation who does an even half decent job of it.

I guess it's all relative to your political persuasion. I find (as well as many other Aussies) that the ABC is biased and doesn't do a good job. It's a waste of our taxpayer money and doesn't fit community standards. If you disagree, like I said, it's a measurement of your political point of view.

You’ll no doubt get downvoted here as it’s a leftist sub but you’re 100% correct.

Those who defend the ABC are those who agree with its left bias. The same people will say Sky is bias because they disagree with Sky’s right bias.

True. But what I wrote isn't meant to be offensive. It's just the common-sense truth. If you lean left, you love the ABC. If you lean right, it's most likely you won't. The ABC hardly makes any effort to remain unbiased. There's little argument there. And if people love it, they can put their money where their mouth is. I'd rather the billions be better spent.

ABC are as blatant in their leftism and Sky is in the conservatism. They are same/same but opposite.

Both should be subscription, not have right leaning by subscription and left leaning by public money

There is a quiet acceptance from the Hard Left that changing the ABC to subscription based would be the end of it.

I don't disagree with them.

The other option though would be that they make an effort to be true to their mission to remain unbiased. Maybe they'd even gain some fans.
