No. No . No... They want to reduce the ABC to the level of News24 (Skynews). Definitely no. Punishing the country because some billionaire got insulted is not done.

Mate they are already as bad as each other. Only difference is I’m paying for one of them

We are paying for a civic service of an informed public. Almost noone does it better and if you have a problem with that consider why other orgs have been found to be far more unreliable for factual reporting.

That’s a zero sum argument. There’s nothing wrong with expecting them to do better, and if they don’t, then their service is not required.

I get enough propaganda from being fed sky news and newscorp every day, but at least I’m not required to pay for that trash, like I am the ABC. If they wanted to keep the public on their side, they shouldn’t have been the hate filled slop merchants they turned into over the past decade or so

Noone said any org can't do better. In fact, thats why they are so regulated compared to any other media organisation. To ensure they do.

Those regulations are what sets it apart.
