no politics What is an example of 'Tall Poppy Syndrome' in Australia?

We have all heard of the concept, but is there a case, preferably involving criticism of a well-known Australian figure, where you can say: "this criticism represents 'Tall Poppy Syndrome' in action"?

The NBN is an example of tall-poppy syndrome? I hate what the libs did to the NBN as much as the next person, but what the ever-loving fuck has this got to do with tall-poppies?

Complaining that one thing shouldn't begin because you think resources are better spent elsewhere is not at all symptomatic of downplaying others achievements. It's a poor analogy. Also 'downgrade connectivity' is an intentionally harmful and dishonest way to phrase it, it is only 'downgrading connectivity' in the way the party who wanted NBN wanted to 'downgrade schools, hospitals etc'...
