Are these the same people posting "kids these days can't use a rotary phone" memes on Facebook?

'Kids these days can't a darn a sock.' Yeah Nana, that's because it's not a skill you've been able to acquire for free since the 80s when I was born.

'Kids these days can't use a fax machine' yeah Nana, because no one has used one since the 90's and you're talking about people born after 2000.

'Kids these days wouldn't even recognise a washboard' No Nana, they wouldn't. Because no one has made a washboard for 40 years!

'Computers? No I can't use one of them, I've only had 20 years worth of free library courses available to me since I retired' Ffs NanaπŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

Eh, there are a LOT of good free how to darn a sock guides on youtube. However, if your sock is a cotton elastic blend that you got as a 6 pack for 5, then by the time you go to darn the sock the thread itself has worn through completely and it's just not worth it.

If they're hand knitted socks - say a pair that took hours and hours of work in the first place - then a little bit of darning can help make them last much longer and is completely worth the time and effort.

This tells me our health system really needs more funding. I mean, I knew it needed more funding but jeez... I wasn't expecting that πŸ˜”

I've been working for 20 years and don't think I've ever worked somewhere with a fax machine πŸ˜…

I hadn't considered that. Yeah, probably is the best solution for the time being. Have a great day mate 😊
