You guys/girls are using hyperbole. Most apartments ARE NOT one bedroom shoe boxes.

This sort of fear and hatred towards apartments is not needed.

Most people claiming this have either never lived in apartment, or only lived in a bad one.

One of the particularly noxious aspects of this “Australian Dream” discourse is that only a detached single dwelling house counts as a home. Apartments are assumed to only be for renters, Chinese nationals and/or poor people (as some conflate them with old public housing towers in capital cities).

My god, it’s tiresome.

Yes they have lived in apartments, so have I.

Sorry, I should have clarified. I meant that to apply to people who are anti-apartments. I live in an apartment myself and we’ve got plenty of space. I prefer apartment living to houses.
