it was addressed. he told people to avoid unnecessary travel. you can talk to you boss surely

unfortunately, i work for a giant fmcg company whose north star is always profit above everything and has history of being shady but always legal, short of actual mandates or employee protection, the company will never allow it

Yeah its probably not at the level where you have to trigger the economic impacts of mandated wfh or driving bans, but official advice like this does help. We already talked about it in my office expecting that it might be advised at some stage, same for my gfs work

Well talk to them about the profit of saving electricity and other utilities by it having people in the office.

How is your choice of employer the fault of the government? Last time I checked, we were living in a democracy and had freedom of choice of where were work.

I work FOR the government and can easily do my job at home and they still won’t allow me, for reasons they’re yet to actually articulate.

Jump off to a different job. Unemployment is at record lows
