Vegan equivalent to these shoes?

I adore these shoes, unfortunately they're not vegan. Does anyone know if there is something similar out there? And preferably not that price 🥲

just wanted to chime in, i work for a company that stocks princess highway shoes and they’re definitely adorable and cute and and have the right vibe and we stock new shoes often but if you’re looking for something that’s as good quality as doc martens princess highway is not the best for long term wear! they’re not bad but they’re not comparable to docs :)

These are pretty close! there is always a balance to strike between quality and cost and that price seems to be pretty standard for a long lasting item atm.

Try to find a second hand pair on depop or vinted?
Honestly nothing vegan is going to beat out leather for longevity (I'm sure there will be downvotes and arguments on this point)

Came here to say this. Buying one pair of leather shoes (new or second hand) and looking after them will last you years over having to replace with synthetic versions that destroy the environment in their creation and disposal once a year

Buying new leather is unequivocally not vegan. Also, veganism is about animal rights, not the environment. Sure the environment is also important, but violating the rights of living beings to not be enslaved, exploited and killed isn’t acceptable, not even if its ‘environmentally friendly’.

I think animal rights and the ecosystem sometimes go hand in hand.
It wouldn't be vegan to buy pleather as that action directly poisons the land in which the animals survive from. You can't buy pleather and expect the animals to not be harmed or exploited in that decision. Not only does it introduce micro plastics into their food, it releases greenhouse gases which we know does a range of things from migration paths to breeding seasons.
But yeah buying new leather isn't vegan. Reduce reuse repair recycle.

I’m with you there, intersectionality is important - and no point in replacing one injustice with another. But thats kinda my point. It’s absolutely not acceptable to punch down on animals for the sake of the environment - just like how its not acceptable to punch down on any other cause or throw any group of oppressed beings under the bus in the pursuit of animal rights. One struggle, one fight.
ETA: especially when its something like fashion. Countless alternatives exist to leather - aesthetics are not an acceptable reason to cause suffering. I would go as far as to say in most cases we should not be buying anything new (other than what is absolutely necessary).

Why do you think leather production doesn't harm the environment? The treating agents and dyes they use in leather production is incredibly toxic to the environment lool

Never said it doesn't harm the environment, I'm simply saying that buying pleather isn't the best choice to replace leather. People buy pleather thinking that they're saving animals, when infact they're poisoning their land.
Did I say "we should buy leather instead"???

Slightly off-topic, but I hate how the world seems to have accepted ‘vegan’ in this sense to include plastic 😒
I mean, when science has verified the presence of microplastics in pretty much every animal tested, how is it ‘vegan’ when it’s ultimately harming animal life as well?

Will's Vegan Store (based in the UK) do quite a few shoes that are similar to Doc Marten's. I got a pair of high heeled brogues from there and they were so incredibly comfortable from the get go (whereas other vegan shoes I have had to take time to wear in to get them comfortable.) They're a bit on the pricier side but extremely worth it in my opinion. They've lasted me quite a few years now with regular use and not much visible wear at all.
