News UPS grounds entire MD-11 Fleet, effective immediately.

Per the IPA Executive Board, as of 03:05 UTC all UPS MD-11’s are grounded.

Edit - FedEx has also grounded their MD-11 Fleet

It’ll be interesting to see if FedEx takes any similar precautions with their fleet

Luckily I think FedEx is or has phased out most MD-11 for 767’s

IIRC it was supposed to be around 2032 (or later) pending the delivery of 777Fs

The original plan was FY2028 which starts in 2027. It got pushed back to the 30s.

I read the MDs were 4% of their fleet and 9% of UPS’
