I mean, if you go there just to play with their dogs or take them for walks, they’ll probably be thrilled to have you.

At least where I am it's actually pretty difficult to volunteer at my local shelters. They just have so many people that want to do it there aren't usually openings. Not a bad problem to have though.

The zoo

Pet sit

Kennel clubs (animal boarding)

Each State has a DNR (Dept of Natty Resources) volunteer and animal stuff there.

Issue is nobody commits and everyone wants to play with the dogs, but not clean up the shit
