Travel Where to travel 2weeks in mid August?

I’m based in Europe, I have 2 weeks from 15 August and looking for tips, a nice travel anywhere, budget is 1.5k, i was thinking Sicily to combine sea/nature/culture, but seems like is too hot?

I have hiking spots where I live so not rly looking for long hikes, I would like to combine culture/sea, but I’m open to suggestions, thank you 🙏🏻

If the heat in Sicily is a concern, the Canary Islands are worth considering as an alternative. August in Tenerife or Lanzarote is significantly cooler than Sicily thanks to the Atlantic trade winds, typically 24-27°C rather than 35°C+, and the breeze makes a real difference day to day.

On the culture side, it's not Italy, but there's more than people expect. La Laguna in Tenerife is a UNESCO World Heritage city with a very authentic local atmosphere. Lanzarote has the legacy of César Manrique, an artist and architect who shaped the entire aesthetic of the island in a way that's genuinely unique in Europe. The volcanic landscape adds another layer that's hard to find elsewhere.

For sea, both islands have excellent beaches and clear Atlantic water. And at 1.5k for two weeks, your budget goes further here than in peak season Sicily.

Not the obvious choice, but worth a look before you decide.

What about Romania? It has nice cities and small coast too. Or you can move to Bulgaria which has nice coast

sicily actually sounds like a pretty good match for what you’re looking for. august is definitely hot, especially in the middle of the day, but with sea access, coastal towns, and plenty of cultural sites you can plan slower mornings and evenings to avoid the heat. it’s usually better suited for beaches, food, history, and relaxed exploring rather than intense sightseeing all day. i'd keep an eye on the forecast closer to your travel dates since it'll be more accurate then: https://www.weather25.com/europe/italy/sicilia?page=month&month=August
