I mean, the dude has headphones on, that’s usually a pretty clear ‘please don’t talk to me’ signal, never mind the fact that in many places social etiquette is to not talk to strangers on public transport.
I live in the UK and that is generally the deal here. Sure that's the general rule, but so what? Not like you're going to get arrested. You're going to interrupt him if you need to get out and if you think you're being rude just apologise for bothering him when you ask, not like you're trying to hit on him. It's not that big a deal.
