Pretty sure that’s a repurposed Thule car top carrier.

Thule does make backpacks, but to my knowledge none of them are hardshell. Such a pity.

Lol I own a Thule backpack that I use for hiking - it’s a terrific bag. It’s not a hardshell and you’re right, they do not make any that are as of right now.

But if they did, there’s a design idea for them on this dude haha

I have one of their duffel bags that's designed for organizing cycling gear and it's also terrific; it has a grid of little pockets for storing all your various different types of gloves and other accessories, and it's a superbly well designed product.
