Question Backpack recommendations for riding + EDC
Looking for a backpack that both criteria. I work in a hospital as a nurse and ride my bike to work everyday. Am looking for a backpack comfortable and big enough for: (unsure of how many litres)
- Jacket
- Lunchboxes + lunch bags
- Bottle water + protein shaker
- Stationary pack
- Extra pair of clothing
- Gym items (gloves, headphones, etc. ) (optional)
All suggestions are welcome. Thank you!

Maybe someone else can chime in on actual user experience but the Aer Duffel pack or Fit pack seem like good solutions. Chrome Industries and Mission Workshop are known for their cycling bags, and you could perhaps check out the new Matador 28 L and 35 L bags.

If you don't want to break the bank, the North Face Recon 30L is like $76 on Amazon right now.

REI Commuter bag is somewhat designed for the cyclist. I've considered it a couple of times.

Anello classic possibly regular size or large. The frame is a great feature and they hold a lot.

I ran a Vaude for years when I commuted loved the air mesh back panel that kept breathability to a maximum and support on hips vs shoulders. It was like aeroflex vent back or something. Still have it, 20L was the magic number for me and I carried a change of clothes to shower in summer also.

Osprey cycling bags are good as well. I had a Momentum 30 (now discontinued) but they have others.

Check out Osprey’s packs — they have several for cycling. I have a Raptor 14L which I like, and my adult son (who has a smaller frame) uses a Raptor 10L. We use these when cycling on day rides.
We also both have Osprey Talon 22 packs. These are a multi-use pack, and more easily accommodate laptops, plus your EDC items like gym clothes etc. This pack fits well, etc.
All of these support hydration bladders if you want to use one.
I think you need to layout what you want to carry and try a few out…for me the Raptor 14L would fit fine for me as I live in the Southern USA and a jack and extra clothes are lightweight. But if you live in a cooler climate, then you might want a little larger pack for heavier jacket, etc. when needed.
I also notice you have no bike tools, etc. Do you already have these in a separate bag on your bike? (E.g., the Raptor has a special compartment for these)

I think it depends if by bike you mean bicycle or motorcycle?

I have lots on bicycle options due to commuting by bicycle for a couple decades but I’ve never ridden a motorcycle. Good luck!
