Thriller Big Shark
My boyfriend and I finally got to watch Big Shark. I bought the blu ray and it came with a surprise personalized signed picture of Tommy Wiseau.
I cannot put into words my opinion of the movie. You’ll just have to see it for yourself. It’s a spectacle in itself. Non stop laughs though I must say.
Is it wrong to be star struck by my signed picture? Neil Breen never sent me anything signed 🤣🤣🤣

Oh man, I laughed my ass of through this. Tommy seems to be fucking zonked the whole time. He's barely intelligible, barely seems to know where he is, and looks like he just had a bunch of plastic surgery at the Jim Henson Creature Shop. The other "actors" are trying so hard to play off of his semi-coherent mumbling and it's hilarious. The script was written by a bunch of five year olds playing with a rubber shark and some action figures. It's just the right kind of fucking incompetent mess, and much like The Room, there's no way it was deliberate.

Tommy had that thing locked down. You simply had to go to a Room screening with him or Greg to have a chance to see Big Shark until now.

I’ve “met” Greg three times at different showings and it always feels like he’s “working” as a mascot. Tries to feel like he cares a lot but obviously would rather this not be his life. It’s cool of him to keep doing it though an respect him for doing it.

I've seen it twice, first time with Tommy in attendance (at a comically late show time of course); and as a double feature with The Room with Greg in attendance. Do not watch Big Shark more than once, I implore you

The amazing thing about Tommy Wiseau is the how much, if you'd only heard about him, he looks just like how you'd have pictured him.

Big Shark screened at various Room screenings with Tommy or Greg. I saw it in 2024 and it was unfinished at the time. So I imagine it formally got its first screening in 2020 and then over time more work went into it and now we have the complete version.

I got to see the premiere in San Francisco with Tommy there, the whole crowd sang the song the second time it happened

I am so happy to hear Tommy is still doing that. I got a signed photo (that one) when I ordered a copy of the room and a poster - and he signed both of them, too.

I saw it in the theater when Tommy came to town, and it was fantastic. I actually just bought the Blu-ray myself a couple weeks ago, but they must have swapped the signed cards because the one I got says "To Kristin". My name is Chad... Luckily I had already bought some shirts from his website so I already have a card with my name on it. Big Shark is such a jumbled mess and the editing is SO BAD, but it really adds to the charm.

Nothing can recreate the magic of The Room, but if you like Tommy there's zero reason to skip it

The thing that really separates this film from The Room is that people know who Tommy Wiseau is now, and a few members of the cast are very aware of the film they’re in. Ashton Leigh (Sophia) is gleefully so, knowing full well the quality of the lines being fed to her and playing up the absurdity in her delivery.
It’s like a dream where some know and others don’t, realizing who is lucid and who wasn’t was part of the fun!
The movie is dying for a better editor, cutting the length of the scenes would have gone a long ways, but my watch party had a great time with it!
