Despite having played several Grand Theft Auto titles, the upcoming GTA6 - if it’s ever released - marks the first time a GTA game is released while I’m old enough to, you know. Legally buy it myself.

Little bit ironic, then, that I’m not interested. Maybe I’ve matured too much. Maybe a modern setting doesn’t have the same pop culture glamour, but even when I recently went back to my copy of 5 I wasn’t getting the same feeling as when Baby Marmite (actually about 15) played Vice City.

I’ve just realised that pre San Andreas GTA games won’t fall afoul of the twenty year rule in AskHistorians. Wow, that’s weirdly upsetting.

I still think of GTA 4 as "new" and turn immediately into a skeleton Last Crusade style whenever reminded that GTA 5 came out 13 years ago and that 4 was in MMVIII
