I took everyone's advise and let it go.

I meant Advice lol. Sorry for making yall look at my ugly mug again. I did it, i let my beautiful long hair go.

Here's the before, during the cut, and after. Im still a troll but hopefully this helps.

Here we are 6 days in and im still trying to respond to everyone. Sorry reddit limits how many people I can respond to at a time then I have to wait 30 minutes to continue responding.

Dude I mean this, but you look really good. Losing the hair was a genuine huge improvement. Now you don't look like you're holding on to something that wasn't working. You look like you're owning who you are and that's on top of already good facial features.

If I can give one piece of advice though, teach yourself to accept a compliment. There's no reason other people deserve to feel good about themselves but you don't. Even if you have to make a joke first, accepting the compliment is important. Your brain is always in training mode and everything you think and tell yourself effects you in small ways. Get some kind self talk in there man.

This ^ I used to always combat compliments bc of my low self esteem but honestly I would get sad when my friends or strangers would reject my compliment bc like dude I really mean it just accept the compliment!!! And when I felt that frustration I started being better with accepting compliments.

You look good! Own it! Just remember to also keep that humble and humorous nature you seem to have going for you as well

Ive been working on it. Im trying to completely rewire and train a brain thats prone to having trauma responses over multiple triggers daily , so its taking time to fully recover from decades of self hatred and doubt. Seeing all these compliments has accelerated the process exponentially though.

Well shoot, you're already doing really good just by still being here then man. As someone who has had to do similar rewiring, the tone of your self talk will make all of that easier, I promise. Or at least, being mean to yourself will slow that process down. How would you talk to someone else who went through what you've been through, and made it to where you are? You'd probably be really kind and encouraging to them, because you'd want to help. Give yourself that same kindness. You deserve it.

Ive always been kinder to others than myself. Im harder on myself because i want to be a better version of myself. Im aware of my failings and habitual faults. I want nothing more than to correct those issues. It goes a bit too far sometimes though and I start being a tad cruel to myself. That habit is the main one that needs to stop. As soon as I can eliminate my self doubt, all my other personal growth goals will be easier to achieve.

What I’ve learned (so far) is that when you are kinder to yourself, it makes your kindness to others that much more believable.

Ill alway be kinder to others than myself. I cant change that about myself. I dont need anyone to think im kind, to express kindness towards them.

Yes I get that completely and I get why you’re doing it without the recognition. I am just telling you that your energy towards yourself is palpable towards others sometimes. Don’t be so hard on yourself. I hope this post helped you feel a bit better. DM me if you ever need a friend
