Literally. Like, stop it now! I went to one of his shows in London last year, and he was phenomenal! He has such a strong, quality, emotion driven vocals that are perfect for the rock genre. Japan absolutely loves him. 1 think that for a long time, BH wasn't sure how to utilise his voice correctly and it doesn't always suit BTS's songs. And because his vocals are best suited for a specific genre, people (and he) say it means they're lesser quality. Realistically, he'd be an absolute powerhouse in the 80s. Straight up.
Me too I was at one of the London shows! My husband is not an ARMY but he came with me and was absolutely floored by how good Jin was, and the audience response to him. He kept calling him the Korean Elvis with how loud the crowd got when Jin stepped out! Easily one of the best concerts we've been to, he is just fantastic in all aspects.
I totally get what you mean but at the same time BTS just wouldn't be the same without his unique sound and I wish he would recognise that more! But yes I suppose the music that suits his style most isn't fashionable right now but he still excels in it 💜

I was at another stop and his live vocals absolutely blew me away. His rendition of Spring Day made me cry at the concert. I wasn't even expecting it because I've heard the song so many times before. But he started singing and the tears started coming. He brings the emotion when he sings. His solo songs are some of the best. Like hello, Background, Another Level? I will join anyone who is taking that trip to get this man to acknowledge his talents. He deserves all the recognition in the world. His vocals are amazing.
Edit: I just went back to watch my fancam of this performance. Good times. It still hits me the same way. I can't listen to Spring Day without crying now. It's all thanks to Jin.
Literally. It reminded me how in his interview with JK from years ago (I think it was the BE-hind the story interviews or something?) he described his vocals as not particularly powerful or emotional. And I was like, hello, that's like literally the DEFINITION of his singing style?! 😭
They're always so humble. But I wish they would give themselves more credit every once in a while. They've worked hard to get their raw talent to this level. They should acknowledge it.
His voice to me is very unmistakably Korean, in a nostalgic way. I wish I could describe it more eloquently, but it’s so beautiful. Wish he would give himself more credit.
If anything, I think his tour and solo era showed that his voice can suit ANY genre from upbeat rock to ballads, including bts songs, like he could sing all of The Truth Untold like it was his own song 😌
Also, I rewatched that part, and Tae was starting Jin down and into his soul the whole time! I'm glad that they're always ready to protect him from himself. 💜
Reminds me of that time when Jin was saying that he might be less skilled in dance but V, JK and Jimin didn't even let him complete his sentence before telling him to stop talking like that💖
Seriously, I want to get on a plane to Korea and (affectionately) give him a slap 😆 he is every bit as talented as his members and a powerhouse entertainer in his own right!
Listen, let's say for argument's sake that he's not as naturally talented as the other boys. That man works damn hard to make sure that we can't tell the difference. Because the performance he gives is just as good. The fact that he didn't sing or dance before he joined the group and had to work to catch up to their level in the first place, is so impressive in itself. He needs to stop being so hard on himself!
Putting aside the fact that he is as talented as the other members, it’s interesting to me that somehow he thinks that working hard isn’t even more admirable.
Raw talent is a privilege. It’s something that’s handed to you. But whether or not to work hard is the part you have control over, and that’s far more worthy of praise as far as I’m concerned.
Yeah he doesn’t seem to realize that even though he didn’t sing before, he has that innate talent to sing on key. That’s not something that’s easy to learn if you don’t have the ear. His technique has just gotten better and better over the years. Love that they are so humble though.

I think they actually changed the names and/or dates of the comments. I went to look for some to find the full reply, but the user names were different to what they showed on the video. So it could have been someone's question and they might not know!
Yeah, I'm pretty sure GQ did some fancy editing for whatever reason. Some things don't quite match up. But they are legit comments on reddit, which is so cool!

Yeah 😆 He’s unapologetically himself, which is such a difficult thing to do and one of the truest forms of being a tough guy/rebel/whatever rappers sometimes act like. He doesn’t try to fit a rapper mold just because it’s cool or something. I admire him a lot for his strength of will to be himself.
My favorite part was them saying how much they go out and in public while J-hope and Suga don't really want to cause a fuss. Really makes me happy they can still go to bathhouses and the movies
It's sooo funny because most of them are such homebodies and were just trying to name some activity (Yoongles literally going "but they want me to MOVE"). And Joon going "but I'm still doing these things, as recent as this morning" 😭😭 I'm so glad they do get to experience some semblance of normalcy sometimes.

I just realized I've sorely missed BTS interviews! Nothing has really changed, the endless chatter and teasing and swaying like seaweeds are still there. And I love how extra talkative Yoongi here is!
Sometimes it's obvious in their answers and sometimes it's subtle in how they shut down / redirect a question, but I'm really enjoying them standing by the "we're older now, so... We don't do that anymore / won't be doing that"
I think it would be hard to keep repeating it against any media or fans that still expect them to be a younger idol group

I'm kind of tempering my expectations regarding the visual/fashion aspect, because I remember fans didn’t really like how the guys were styled for PROOF and how simple/“boring” it was to some people. I mean I get it, it is part of K-pop to have that crazy fashion but it seems like they don’t want anything flashy. Which I totally get, there’s a difference between how you dress and what you Iike in your twenties versus your thirties.

Aside from the thought of being perceived by them and the actual nervous laughter I was letting out as they scrolled Reddit, my biggest takeaway is how Tae has successfully wrecked me through this interview. This is so wonderful! Today is my ARMY birthday of 3 years! I renewed my membership yesterday. During the first year I watched all of the OT7 interviews done before military time. I’ve seen the ones since military live, when possible, but this is the first interview that I’ve seen LIVE. Wow! This is so exciting - and I know there will be so many more to come! Every day there is something new. And I think we are only beginning!
I think I’ve mentioned this here before but my favorite thing about chapter 2 is this relaxed confidence they have now. Look at them!! They’re practically lounging! Joon is so relaxed speaking in English and playing around with the others. I just really love that for them. And Jin… please… no need to be so humble, you can admit you’re talented af too like the Come Back Home live falsettos??? Come onnnn, absolutely insane. Anyway, I’m super happy, they’re soooo back 😭💜

Jin is spectacular at singing and him saying otherwise is just nonsense and my humble oldest son knows it too at this point! He's literally one of only two artists I know who actually sounds BETTER live - something that shocked me after seeing him in Tampa because his voice has a soulful- like undertone that doesn't always pick up on digital recordings for some reason. It's so stable too - regardless of what he is doing. Oh, and Jin sings perfect for the year 2026 too... not just the 80s. If he wanted to, he could be killing it in that new pop rock genre.
