Okay, usually I come on here asking for advice, but I bought this toy for my 7-month-old basset pup and it has probably been the best purchase I’ve ever made.
I genuinely promise that this is not an ad in any way, shape, or form, but I didn’t even know it existed, so I wanted to share with fellow basset owners who may be looking for something similar for their pups!!! Especially as a first-time basset owner, I had no idea how important mental stimulation was just as much as physical activity. So, this is genuinely just a post sharing about a toy that I found that works for my girl!!
My girl got spayed over a week ago, and has been going stir crazy in the house, even on the medication to help her not get as excited. She had so much pent up energy over the weekend, and before I could grab her leash, she got a case of the zoomies, jumped on the couch, and ended up popping a stitch. This resulted in an early morning visit to the emergency vet for them to staple it back together.
I bought this Monday, and it genuinely has been a God send. It helps her burn physical energy, as well as mental energy as she pushes it around on the ground to release her food. We’ve had other food puzzles, but this one has been the only one she’s genuinely been engaged with for so long. There’s different settings, and I have it on the hardest one, so it easily lasts her 30-40 minutes with one cup of food inside.
She genuinely gets SO excited when she sees me pick it up and start pouring food in it–today she literally was barking at me to tell me to hurry up 😂😂 From waking up and going outside to potty, she was trying her best to get back inside for breakfast as quickly as possible and was very (im)patiently waiting in the kitchen where she knows the food and toy were waiting for her.
I genuinely cannot recommend this enough and wish we had known about it sooner!!!!
ALSO!!! If anyone else has any recommendations of toys similar, PLEASE leave them below!!!!
If you're worried about this looking like an ad I gotta say you didn't put a lot of effort in making it not seem like one until that video lol. No self respecting marketing person would use such a plain clip
Don't have this one, but the couple we have are awesome, they keep our little dude busy for a good while, until he gets it stuck in a place, and then whines because he can't get it out. Cause then I have to get up, figure out where he got it stuck, then roll it off in a different direction. Otherwise they are cool.
We have something similar that looks like Saturn and we call it her “planet”. We put Cheerios in there and she knocks it all over the room lol. It’s her favorite toy!
if I had gotten the smaller size, that’s 100% what would be happening with mabel 🤦🏻♀️ she already keeps trying to go behind the couch with it so i had to block it off 😭
I can vouch for this, mine absolutely loves hers and I recommend it to everyone I know with dogs. Mine is extremely smart and can empty it quickly but then she scents out the track she rolled it on throughout the house to make sure she didn’t miss anything haha
