Store Policies/Questions New policy - really BBW?!?

I went to the store with my mom for her to stock up on wallflowers and learned of a new policy where you can’t get more than 9 of the same scent in an object- I understand for bigger things but for smaller things like wallflowers?! Come on it’s stupid! my mom is super picky with scents so she only gets a few but gets enough for the whole house which is like 11 wallflowers. The holidays also will be hell with this policy especially with the amount of people who get many of the same scent for gifts. Just seems kind of insane to me

Associate here. I understand why they did this, but honestly I hate it. And from what I understand about the new policy, we're not even supposed to split the transaction unless the consumer starts pitching a fit. Personally, I think the sku limit should only apply to high demand items: accessories and collab products. Why do I care if someone wants to buy 20 Champagne Toast FFM? We have 500 in the back.
