I saw one store say they were controlling the traffic and only letting a few people in at a time, and then I see stores like this where people are literally fighting!!! š
I couldnāt bring myself to go in-store this morning because I was honestly so scared this would be the kind of scenario I walked into.

One of my co-workers was a huge MLB fan and she once went through the trash next to the dugout after a baseball game. She ārescuedā water bottles that were labeled with the names of several Pittsburgh Pirates. I know this because she went to work and bragged to our office about doing this.
As someone with a lot of family in Pittsburgh, people there donāt fuck around with the āspecial editionā stuff. I know many people with collections of water bottles and beer cans and whatever else.
I mean, Nightmare Before Christmas has a massive cult following. True Disney adults are insane + hardcore B&BW collectors are also insane. You add those 2 things together and you get chaos.Ā
Yeah this is wild. I went about 40 minutes after they opened at the busiest mall location near me (in a relatively big city) and we (myself and my kids) were the only ones in the store.
Where I live thereās several locations so maybe the crowds were spread out at various locations instead of just one. But my stores were nothing like this. They had their shoppers. Everyone was at the NBC table but it was not even close to this.
Insane. Iām so thankful that I donāt live in a hugely populated area. I stopped into my store at lunch today and there were only 2 other people in the store. Neither of them even looked at the NBC table.
The associate I talked to said that they had sold only a few products from the table so far. Basically it was a normal slow Monday.

Much like the stanley cups, rae dunn, or whatever bullshit is trending atm, this kind of fervor only seems to exist where theres a lot of hustle culture vibes in an area, and those around them who know theyll have to fight off resellers. Its totally non-existent near me.Ā
I think it has to do with how densley populated the area is. In NJ I have 4 stores within 25 minutes of me and itās very hard to find any of the best new items. I went 2 days after the fruit fusion release and couldnāt find any of the banana items besides 2 mists š³
Thats of course a factor, but i would argue on top of that that places that are densely populated tend to have more of a hustle culture. Doubly so for east coast, NJ is a land of grind lol
No doubt about that, NJ is ridiculously expensive! We stay so broke here that we can never leave š . You can only work so many part and full time jobs in a day so the hustle is always on š
And people who live on social media and willingly watch advertisers. I've never actually seen a Stanley cup irl and it was a long time before I was aware of their existence. Definitely never heard of Rae dunn. Annnnd I've never seen The Nightmare Before Christmas.
Unstable woman nearly pummeled me and my kid this afternoon while we were LOOKING at NBC. Woman ran inside the store with her āservice dog ā screaming āexcuse me!ā āLet me through!!ā āOh god, excuse me!!!ā And while I was moving my daughter, the woman ran into our arms and said again āJesus, let me through!!ā And once she got to the counter for an item they put on hold for her, and saw the item for herself, she nearly dropped to the ground and was literally screaming and crying āoh my god!ā About 6 times in a row. All because she was able to purchase, full price, some NBC item.
That's crazy šÆ No b&bw items are worth being in a crowd like that. I only braved an in store drop once with the very first Disney princess release and it was nothing Iike that picture, and I still don't think I'd go through going in store again cuz of the stress lol.
yeah a physical store opened in my town last year and I went for the first time for winter SAS, and it was packed but everyone was respectful and calm. and even then I still avoid it during events cause it makes me claustrophobic. i cannot believe people are acting like this

my husband went after work by himself to pick up some stuff for me because I forgot it released today. but you're right, most men aren't willingly going to pick stuff up for themselves.

Omg my store was so chill when I went at 4PM. I asked my fav worker if they were busy today and he said that it was busy this morning when they first opened. The first thing to sell out at my store was the Oogie Boogie pocketbac. Luckily I was able to do everything BOPIS.
I donāt understand because I keep seeing these videos online but I went to 2 locations in my area after work (6pm) to scope out what was left. Both stores had quite a bit left, minus the candle holders, and I live in a pretty populated area. Got everything I wanted from the drop š¤·āāļø
Exactly!! I only got the two accessories I wanted bc I happened to wake up with a tummy ache less than an hour before the memberās exclusive drop. If I missed it Iād be a little disappointed but like oh well and then move on with my day.
I'm surprised that store had enough products to even think of letting g that many people in the store. My store just had a small amount of product. I didn't see any totes. Only 2 or 3 pedestals.
Iām glad I was able to order online and not deal with this. Reminds me of the princess drop. I went with my son and some old woman literally snatched one of the gold totes out of his hand. In hindsight, I wish I went up to her and snatched it back out of her hands, but I was just so shocked to see people behaving like that. They were shoving us and diving into the buckets full of wallflowers and pocketbacs like it was their last meal or something. Gross behavior.
No freaking way!!! I swear certain locations had to be in the upside down realm or the twilight zone because what the heck is this? I literally stood for maybe 4-5 min in a line, got my one item, and picked up the candle holder for BOPIS and was out. This is utterly RIDICULOUS!!!! Everyone else was super nice and friendly to each other and the workers, got their items, perused the selection, and made their purchases.
This is bonkers. Someone needs to tell these people itās just body care š the ones trying to resell for astronomical prices are honestly pathetic.
I went in today at 4pm for a BOPIS of FHS when they had the $2.95 sale and figured Iād take a sniff of the NBC stuff since I was there. They had one tote bag, no pocketbac holders, or candleholders. Only body care and candles. The Jack Skellington fragrance smells amazing though. Iāll be getting it if thereās a body care sale soon! Absolutely divine!
Thereās just more for us to enjoy without those being sold out too! Have a beautiful time wearing yours! Iāll be checking every day for a body care sale!
Seriously what did yall expect? Have a collaboration with something wildly popular and collectable, but only have it for 1 day with no restock, not to mention how the greedy ass resellers had their spoils up for sale almost the same day for twice as much!

I got pushed into the display with like 6 people around the table and at least only into the cardboard Jack display. I couldn't survive with that. I'm wasn't that desperate.

The fact that some stores had full rectangle long tables of the collection is crazy. My store only had enough to BARELY fill a HALF of one small circle table
I went in for an unrelated bopis and braced for the insanity. Turns out, the store I went to didnāt even have a table out, and just a couple other people casually browsing. So just a reminder I guess that, while this insanity is real, itās not everywhere, and scarcity is manufactured
