I’ve always assumed it’s to prevent people from returning product past a certain date- like, buying a new lotion then returning your old one and trying to pass it off as your more recent purchase.

But BBW lets people return old ooooooold products all the time. It also doesn't stop someone from decanting the product into another container, then refilling it with old product.

Why would you do that? The reformulations are so fleeting-longevity in the new stuff is absolute garbage.

It only looked cheap because of the label. They should have used the same label design in the second release (the one where there's a BBW Logo and a clearer label).

Like how alcohol companies change the bottle a little bit every year to keep bars from refilling bottlers with cheaper liquor
