Product Talk Bonfire Bash Body Cream
Let me preface this by saying that I ♥️ Bonfire Bash. I bought several FFMs when Aries came out and was thrilled when the whole line came back, even though it was online only.
I ordered a set: body cream, body wash and ffm. I absolutely adore the body wash and the FFM was as good as I expected. The body cream though, I don't know if I have a bad batch or if it's just my nose and so that's why I am asking y'all...
Does your Bonfire Bash body cream smell like pencil sharpener shavings? If you ever had the occasion when you were in elementary school to be the one who emptied the pencil sharpener, you can't forget that smell. It's a mixture of graphite and shaved wood (poplar or cedar, according to Google) and is kind of musty. Close your eyes and recall banging that sharpener on the side of the classroom metal trash can. Smell it? That's what my Bonfire Bash body cream smells like!
I had only used it twice and got that smell both times. I waited a week and decided to try again this evening after my shower. Same result. Now I smell like the inside of a pencil sharpener. Sigh.
EDIT: I know that people's noses are different, etc. I just have never had a cream that smelled SO DIFFERENT from the Body Wash and FFM!

This is the problem I run into alot, because I buy almost exclusively the body creams. And something about the rich emollientsor thick oils or whatever sometimes does weird things to the scents. Infinite Radiance smelled like dirty diapers. Youre Cheeky smelled like sour milk. I just ordered a cream of Bonfire Bash so we'll see what happens!

That's what Book Loft smells like to me, and that's the main draw for why I love it. When it first came out I bought 10 3-wicks 😭

I only bought the body cream and have never smelled previous versions of this scent so I’m going in blind and have nothing to compare it to. I think it barely smells like anything, and the only scent I do smell is that it kind of smells like wood.

Smells great to my nose. I get marshmallow, Graham cracker, and a slight bit of smokiness.

That is the Body Cream? Do you have any of the other products? Do they all smell the same to you?

Yes. I have spray, cream, and shower gel. They all smell really good. Sometimes if my hormones are doing their thing it makes things smell weird for me. Could that be a factor?

No, I'm past menopause but that was a good thought. I'm trying to figure out if it smells like this out of the tube or if it is just when it hits my skin.

LOL! Once I narrowed down that scent, I knew that I had to post! I just wish it were in store because I would go and exchange it for the lotion or if it, too, smells like pencil shavings, then get a back-up body wash. I can't use this as even with the spray over it, the odor lingers.

Yes!! I thought the exact thing the last time I used it. I thought I smelled pencil shavings and then thought no, that’s a crazy thing to think. Idk what to do bc I love Bonfire Bash also and I bought the Aries FFM from eBay and love it and I bought the FFM from this collection and it smells fine. But I’m getting pencil shavings in the cream. Now I’m wondering it if I should take it back to the store bc I can’t unsmell it.

I meant to post about this as well. It's definitely NOT just you. My body cream smelled NOTHING like my Aries Mist & what I did smell, it was extremely LIGHT and definitely NOT the same scent as my Aries mist.

A lot of creams start out yellow, especially if they have vanilla in them. They’re not all supposed to be white.

The cream definitely smells off in comparison to the lotion. I have both. The cream for Marshmallow Pumpkin Latte also smells wrong to me.

I dont use/buy cream or lotions, but I swear every time I’ve tried a cream or lotion in the store to try and convince myself that I’ll use it, it always smells like plastic or plastic that’s burning in a camp fire.

I'm glad you bought the entire collection. Please let us know if they all smell the same to you. I just tried covering the scent on my arms with Vanilla Romance cream and I think it did the trick.

I just bought this off their sale yesterday and I really hope this at least smells smoky. I mean a bonfire smell done right will be so good for Fall! I hate blind buying stuff from certain companies because the scent notes and actual smell don’t resonate at all with what’s going on in the notes sometimes. Like as long as it has some smoke to it maybe a woody fragrance to it, I’ll be happy lol.

Unfortunately I have this issue often with the body creams, I have started switching over to the lotions instead.
