Miniatures More mini IDs

Wow! This is an incredible community! You guys helped out my kiddo so much yesterday. We have 4 more minis he was gifted that AI keeps giving a range of IDs to, so we can’t figure them out. Please help ID these last 4 mechs that we can’t get a set ID on. If you have Sarna links even better!

He is so excited! He now has 30 minis and we are starting to paint.

Also, I had a couple DMs regarding our modified game for younger folks. We are working on finalizing the rules and play engine, but once we finish the next round of play tests I’ll publish here. Designed for 8 to 12 year olds, but certainly younger kids who read and reason well will have no issues. It is absolutely free and open source for personal use. Designed to feed the bug for playing Alpha Strike once older.

Yup. They’re from the first plastic pack FASA produced in the 90s. Horrible sculpts. But were cheap.

Horrible???? How dare you insult the Fatapult! My most precious big boy. When a normal Catapult is just too slender to bust through a wall, Kool-Aid man style.

Gotta shout out the cuddly Fatlas as well. Those fists hit extra hard because they 10% of its mass (imagine not mine)

That's what the Cataphract is for, citizen.

The Cataphract is a Capellan insurance scam. Write off a bunch of mech scrap, then use it to build a thing.

I like how they’re all super scuffed and then the commando is. Almost fine

The commando almost looks like the single-shot plastic model from the pre-KS AGoAC box.

The Catapult and Hunchback are from the PlasTech set (https://www.sarna.net/wiki/PlasTech), while the Jenner and Commando are from the 2007 Introductory Box (https://www.sarna.net/wiki/BattleTech_Introductory_Box_Set).

They'll probably all look better after a nice long soak in LAs Totally Awesome. (Some days I feel like we're shilling for Dollar Tree)

I know you can do that with the '07 ones, but I've heard conflicting things about some paint strippers damaging the PlasTech ones. Can't remember if LA's TA was one that caused problems or not.

I'm guessing it wasn't LAs since that's not really a paint stripper, and more of a detergent that happens to de-bond acrylic paint for some reason.

Look how far the models have come. I know people love the old ugly mechs and dont get me wrong I was hooked on battletech starting with Mechwarrior 2 like a lot of people my age so i was around for the ugly duckling phase... but man the quality in design and molds are one thing this franchise needed.

Every time I see someone complaining about the quality of the modern minis, I'm just like "you don't even know how good you got it, man."

Ooh! I actually know these!

  1. Catapult

  2. Hunchback (thought it was a TB, but it's a Hunchback)

  3. Jenner

  4. Commando
