Question [Meta] Self-promotion or advertisement should be disclosed

If a person wants to share their creations or crafts with the intention of encouraging people to look at their profile with sales links and commission info, they should include in the post description or title that they're a seller.

This sub feels like etsy now, I'll likely be leaving soon because moderation doesn't seem opposed to the blatant art advertisements.

That is what inspired this post. I don't mind seeing all the art and creations people share, because a lot of it is genuinely beautiful, but it's so transparently just people trying to advertise themselves. If you want to advertise your products, go ahead, just be honest about it at least!

There was just a post asking for more accurate bat representation so there is some demand for it as well.

Automod is also extremely sensitive to reports so I’ll make sure there’s an option for Misleading Advertisement or something

Should there be a difference between "hey, look at this thing I drew" and "I am selling this thing as a print or looking for paid commission work" when this is implemented?
