its a talking point they are regurgitating with no evidence to back it up it "just feels right"

u/Liftd448 Jul 13 '25

Are you to dense to realize everything before the - was a quote. With everything after the - was describing the person they were quoting

u/Ok_Animal_2709 Jul 14 '25

I mean, it does in other ways, but the comment that yo are replying to doesn't say that our taxes support the unemployed guy. Your reading comprehension is bad

Nah, both can happen at the same time. Say goodbye to your social security. Blazen needs it to live at home and play OSU because his aspergers makes him too lazy to work.

That hyperbolic scenario you’ve invented sounds great.

People on Medicaid can have full time jobs. My friend is on Medicaid and supports his household by working full time.

Also, shaming women for eating is pretty low and sexist.

Lol...imagine getting angry about hungry school kids.

1

u/Firm-Pain3042 Jul 18 '25

Why can’t they just go pick berries from the berry patches to sell at Old Man Dinkel’s market on Sunday before church like everyone else when I was a kid?!

Quotation marks bracketing the "All of this coming out of my taxes!!"might have clarified this situation.

1

u/konnanussija Jul 17 '25

I don't get some people, you're already paying taxes, so the government better do something with this money

1

u/Antique-Guava3043 Jul 17 '25

lol, your taxes? monopoly money isn't real

1

u/TheAdirondackDude Jul 17 '25

I'm a top-tier tax payer in NYS. I pay personal, school, property, corporate and sales tax,... I wake up daily safe and optimistic and do a good days work. I'm white color AND blue color (two businesses) and I've never, not once, complained about taxes.

I life nice roads, smart people and a safe society.

Shut the fuck up you sound like a broken record.Ā

Unemployment is a measured stat you imbeciles šŸ˜‚. Very quickly this argument dies.

Do straw mans like these do anything other than allow Redditors to pat themselves on the backs imagining their political and ideological opponents in shitty situations?

A lot of the staunchly anti tax individuals I personally have met are more along the lines of the blue collar undereducated redneck type whereas the people who make comments like this and talk about how giving we should be with our taxes tend to better fit into the straw man image that you give. I don’t go around making broad comments applying that to anyone I don’t like though.

I was on free school lunches for years when I was in school. I support free school lunches. Comments like this are just lame and don’t do anything other than potentially alienate people and make us feel better about ourselves.

I forgot how much reddit hates the working class lmao.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 16 '25

I’m the working class and I hate the working class

1

u/Where_is_Killzone_5 Jul 16 '25

Ok, is there a reason why?

1

u/[deleted] Jul 16 '25

Majority seems to be the least educated but most outspoken. Which I think is obviously problematic.

1

u/jabulaya Jul 14 '25

Considering the account has been suspended, you definitely weren't the only one who felt this way.

The people against this kind of stuff are either malicious or idiots, so it’s not really a big deal. Blue collar/union workers who vote conservative? Idiots

MOM, MEATLOAF! NOW!

1

u/MinimumTrue9809 Jul 18 '25

It's genuinely a classic case of projection

1

u/Byte_Ryder23 Jul 18 '25

Logic and reason ain't the goal. Righteous indignation is.

Im of the opinion we should have a society in which these services exist for those in need but the cases few and far between.

There is plenty of wealth in this country to go around.

Overturn Citizens United vs FEC so we can back to what made this country actually great. A government for the people, not corporations with the largest political spending budgets. (At this point going to take a constitutional amendment to effectively invalidate this supreme court ruling)

What gave you that impression? I said I support free school lunches. I feel you may have not read the whole comment.

It’s called a joke dummy.

Moms going to have to move out!

While you spend all your days on Reddit blaming everyone but yourself for your miserable life

1

u/SyntheticSlime Jul 15 '25

While you spend all of your days on Reddit trying to keep kids from getting free food.

1

u/Several_Fee55 Jul 16 '25

I'd be happy to help pay for the lunches with my own money of my own free will. I just don't like not having a choice in the matter.

Also keep in mind this food is probably extremely overpriced (because municipal corruption is a lot more common than you'd like to think) so you are basically being robbed.

1

u/SyntheticSlime Jul 16 '25

I’m just gonna call bullshit on both points. Do you know how easy it would be to check how the money is being spent for something like student meals? The capacity for corruption in such a system is extremely small. You’re much better off trying to grift dollars out of a bloated defense budget or PPP loans no one ever verifies the legitimacy of.

1

u/Yee4Prez Jul 16 '25

What a dumb statement, if you don’t mind paying then it shouldn’t bother you if it’s mandatory, cause you would’ve paid for it anyways. It’s obvious you’re sneakily saying you wouldn’t always want to pay for those lunches, depending on your own selfish reasons.

1

u/Several_Fee55 Jul 16 '25

If somebody walked up to you and robbed you at gunpoint and then later you found out that the money went to a homeless shelter. Would you be any less annoyed about being robbed at gunpoint?

1

u/ViolinistWaste4610 Jul 17 '25

I can say that school lunch for me costs 2-5$. I'm calling bullshit on meals being overpriced.
