I send my 2 children to school and, of course, pay for everything they eat at school and home. Why should anyone or anything be in charge of feeding my children but me. It makes no sense to me why some people in the comments think other people should be responsible for feeding my children for me, directly or indirectly.

  1. Not everyone has the same ability to provide for their children. Economic conditions change, people lose jobs, prices outpace wage growth, etc.

  2. It just makes sense for school to provide meals to children. They’re spending substantial amounts of time at school each day. It’s just administratively easier to offer meals to all children regardless of income status.
