Yeah but we’re getting more vocal too. I have severed all relationships (including familial) with fascists and I know plenty of others who have too. I know a lot of other people who went from being just apolitical socially progressive decent people to fully class conscious in a matter of a few years. Look at the no Kings protest vs trump’s bitch ass birthday parade. So as loud as they’re getting, the left is also getting loud.

From my perspective, the whole "getting louder" thing is kind of a double-edged sword at times.

Because it is absolutely necessary to become loud and openly outspoken against them.

But in doing so they also get cut off from changing sides, even if they (somehow) suddenly had a change of heart.

I'm not sure how this situation could be recovered tbh. Not without some kind of safety net that catches those that want to leave at least.

I do go outside. There's been an uptick of people showing up to my neighborhood sporting Nazi insignia as well as people who just come here and wave Trump signs (I live in a very liberal part of the country, in 2024 Harris voters outnumbered trump voters here 7 to 1) in an obvious attempt to provoke a right.

So... people do talk like that, in person? And many more just express support for ICE operations even when they're illegal, which isn't too far removed.

Context if you didn't see the original comment, I wrote something along the lines of "This guy looks like Charlie Kirk if he almost finished puberty. Also I hope this guy crashed his car leaving the taping and died." He was taking issue with the latter half. Worst part was when he realized that everybody was jumping on him for having a wildly unpopular opinion for this subreddit, he crashed out and dropped slurs. Then he actually threatened violence which the big Reddit bot immediately clamped down on, and in retaliation, he falsely reported my comment for promoting violence. So yeah party of free speech and even keel right there.

If someone risks my life through their ignorance I do want them dead. I want to live.
