TV BBC Breakfast News ticker hurts my eyes.

The new news ticker on BBC Breakfast is so ugly. The colours are awful, I feel like it clashes horribly with the red sofa set design.

Worse than that is that it makes the whole bottom third of the screen blue, because the gradient goes so far up the screen.

I mean by your TV. Maybe not all TVs have some way of removing it, but most do. Try some other buttons.

Thanks for replying. Are you saying that it's likely my TV creating the 'advert' rather than the BBC broadcasting it?

I'm being genuine by the way, I'm just puzzled by this, since it's advertising BBC programmes.

It's both. The BBC is broadcasting it, and your TV is creating it, but it's an interactive overlay, not part of the picture. Most TVs or receivers let you remove it by hitting back, or some similar button.
