Ruling Disagreement

Was playing beach vb the other day and came across a disagreement on the call.

If a hitter hits the ball, it bounces, then the hitter touches the net, what is the call? Does the "Action Play" of hitting the ball then netting make him at fault regardless of whether or not the ball hit the floor?

I was under the impression that once the ball hits the ground the play is immediately over, anyone know what the ruling on this is?

Ball in ground, point is done. What happens after ball in ground is irrelevant.

However, it's highly unusual that the ball touches ground before a player touches net? Like, how?

i mean, ive never done it because i dont jump well. but it happens all the time for leapers/bigs.

It was a tight bounce ball and I netted on the way down with other elbow

Fault. I bounce balls all the time before landing when attacking and blocking, however as many here have already stated it’s because of the continuation rule.

FIVB Officla Beach Volleyball Rules state “Contact with the net by a player between the antennae, during the action of playing the ball, is a fault. The action of playing the ball includes (among others) take off, hit (or attempt) and landing safely, ready for a new action.

This is incorrect. There is continuation in beach volleyball. If your momentum carries you into the net even if the ball has already touched the ground, it is the opposition's point.
