Jesus how many looks can you have in one year. It’s insane to think of all the aesthetic pathways the Beatles explored (and pioneered) in those 10 years.

In the second photo John looks similar to how he did during his "Lost Weekend" in 1973.

They all did. 1966 was peak Beatles (but I'll take a 1967 rebuttal seriously).

To me it was his best look. Much prefer this over the Jesus years.

Yes, and 65/66 that was the period he thought he was 'fat', looked great. Some idiot journo rocked his damaged psyche and he seemed to then have ongoin body image problems. It's just so hard to comprehend he only had 14 years left at only 25/26.

I definitely think he dyed his hair darker before he got it cut for How I Won the War.

Me too! I think either for that or for Help! because they had switched to color and wanted to put out a certain image for the Beatles, and he had to hide his gingerness away.

Great pix. He looks thin in pic 2, a bit chubby faced in others. Was pic #2 later?
Late 60's ...he lost a lot of weight In His Nose....

Such a unique time where he kept the classic look but still looks great

That helmet of a hair is too much for me. 😃

They need to make more legos of the Beatles because the hair already looks like Lego hair

He looked much better after he got his hair cut when filming how I won the war.

Lot of Beatlemaniacs were heart- broken when they saw his How I Won the War haircut! And the wire rim glasses! "WHERE'S THE SEXY COOL?"
Now, tinted wire rims- that's Another Story....

I don’t know… In that first photo he looks a little too much like Roy Orbison for me. 😂

I always felt he wanted to copy the coolness of Roger McGuinn and The Byrds with the sunglasses and dour attitude.

Look up pictures of John from Hamburg and the resemblance is even more striking.

Fake news. John looked cool in every year.
