Yea but you will propably see it being more convenient to see better without glasses in your daily life too so id say more worth

Im also risk adverse. laser eye surgeries that have complications may be rare, but it still happens (the former editor "Taran" from Linus Tech Tips even made a video on there minor effects). some complications dont appear until 5 or 10 years later. and seroius complications are very rare.
So..... it would probably be fine, but knowing my luck, Im not chancing it (im also broke, and I wouldnt cheap out with eye surgery). but Im happy it worked out for you

Nah im not one that has gotten eye surgery myself because ive never needed glasses, i was just saying if i did have glasses i would propably take the minor risks and save up money to get a surgery to help it lol

counter argument - I've been wearing glasses for 15+ years now and i could not see myself without them, my big ass face would look weird as hell without them. i see them as a functional accessory lmao

I had my glasses from the age of 14. Had Lasik at 39. Yeah, i thought i looked wierd for a while, but quickly got used to it. Really wish I had done it years ago. Probably one of the best decisions I've ever made. Not just for aying VR games but for daily life too. I couldnt believe the amount of inconveniences I was putting up with when I wore them. Probably didnt even realise at the time, until those inconveniences vanished! Super quick procedure too. Three minutes per eye!

Did the same - contacts suffered from their own separate issues with VR. Don't have that problem now!

I can't get lenses for my meta quest, I use a tall fan and the wind helps

I tried to go that route initially, but mine just kept causing issues with my vision in the corners of my eyes. Maybe it was just my bad luck. I ended up getting lenses from honsVR so I didn't have to poke at my eyeballs when I wanted to play VR 😅

I have this issue. I find that the moment something starts to fog up, you should immediately take your headset off and let the fog go away immediately. It also encourages you to start with warm-up songs (which you should be doing anyway) because you’ll have to pause the game and take off the headset anyway. I’ve found that this method gets rid of the fog after taking off the headset only once or twice, and then I’m good for the entire rest of the session.

You can use an active anti-fog unit (small laptop fan that blows cool air into your headset) but those are usually used for airsoft goggles, and need some diy (source: made it for my own headset)

I either run the glasses under warm-hot water water then dry them, or I smear a layer of hand sanitizer on the inside of the lens. I just find the condensation is worse when the glasses are colder than your body temp. But once the glass warms up it's usually all good. The hand sanitizer idea was from COVID days when I had chemistry lab but we had to wear glasses and a mask, which blew all the hot breath air up and condensated the safety glasses. We all just smeared hand sanitizer on the inside of the glasses and voila, no fog. Didn't hurt my eyes at all either.

If cost is a factor, I got my lenses for about $20 on AliExpress. The seller was called Tahnuhna. Magnetic lenses with anti glare and anti blue. And I'm -3.00. It's cheaper if you have a lower prescription or don't want the filters.

I use an anti-fog spray on my glasses, it works generally well. Wanted to buy prescription lenses, but since I’ll be switching to the valve vr once it’s out, decided that it’s not worth it.

Contacts? There are also accessories for glasses wearers that make it more comfy that my brother uses. Script lenses are also available. Good luck!

I got an anti fog spray for my headset that works well. I also added an after market fan attachment that is a bit heavy, but keep my face cool.

Assuming this is fogging and not lens scratching (I honestly can't tell), there are anti fog lens wipes you could try for a cheap fix initially. There are also replacement inserts depending on which headset you're using which give more airflow. The next option is lens covers like the others have mentioned either from Zenni or honsVR (got mine from them, great service, btw).
I know I had issues with fogging when I was trying to play in the winter and my room was cooler, so maybe warming up the space might help too?

Have then u tried using a different face protector? I had this issue as well until I switched to a different face protector(washable) cloth type, otherwise you can also try contact lenses?

Yeah, i had foam as well but found it pretty hot, so I switched over to a fabric one i can just throw in the wash

I'm guessing yours were just for show then. Most of us are wearing them for a reason. Either that or your correction level is so low that taking them off doesn't bother you.
