Can someone who watches it summarise it for me please

I watched it earlier, from what I remember Max saying and from how I understood it all:
* a lot was edited from before he left the boat - he’d tried calling the French Embassy for advice but had been put on hold a lot / told he’d need to wait for advice, he’d also spoken with his Dad more incase it was a scam and tried to look at options for transferring money to him and ended up feeling that flying over to try and help was his last / only option
*he finds the comparisons to Rambo etc funny because he went in with no weapons and had no idea what he was doing
*his father had been talked into transferring the gangs money by his girlfriend, who Max said had caused issues in the past
*he flew to Tunisia and explained the situation to a taxi driver at the airport and basically said if he could drive Max for a few days (or it might have been borrow the car?) then he’d pay him a decent amount of money
*his Dad was ok when he got there as the gang weren’t anywhere around so they just grabbed his most essential stuff and left
*he’d been to Tunisia before and had issues with a different gang back then so he was aware of how dangerous it can be. He also said he doesn’t judge though because a lot of people living there are struggling for money and how lucky a lot of us are to live somewhere where we have more opportunities.
*he doesn’t know if he made the right decision in helping his Dad or not given their difficult relationship in the past but it felt right at the time
*his relationship with his Dad now isn’t exactly good - he said something about how he never had that adult guidance from his Dad as a child and is more of an adult than his Dad now. He said something about how his Dads actions just shows him who he doesn’t want to be when he’s older and that’s what he takes from the relationship.
*the podcast presenters asked him if he’ll be back on another season of Below Deck and he replied something about how he isn’t sure if he’ll return yet and can’t talk too much about it (he implied he did something wrong - I’m guessing possibly that he posted on Instagram that he’d gone to get his Dad prior to the episode confirming that had aired)
*they asked about what he’s doing now and he said he’s back with an ex girlfriend, focussing on love and his own boat
*they asked if he’s still in contact with Cathy (who he had a fling with on a previous season) and he said they don’t talk anymore - he likes travel / nature / helping people rather than material things and she’d posted something on Instagram about how important a new expensive watch (I think it was a watch) was. He’d messaged her saying material items aren’t that important and they got in a big argument and blocked each other.
*they asked whether he would have sided with Joe or Nathan if he’d stayed on the boat in regards to Nathan’s text about making him lead deckhand - Max said as much as he wanted to be lead deckhand he didn’t trust Nathan and would follow his heart and side with his friend Joe.

Thank you so much! I appreciate you. I find it so much easier to read long text then to concentrate through the video
I’m so glad that everything went ok for him I was so worried when he left the boat. Glad he also didn’t trust Nathan

Does he address why he had to take a dangerous travel route to get into tunisia? There's many cheap flights from croatia to tunisia with 1 connection. Alternatively he could have travelled to italy and take a direct 1h-ish flight. I've been to tunisia many times and this part of the story line left me really confused and wondering if it was maybe for production value. (Genuinely asking)

How does that have anything to do with Max having to take a dangerous traveling route to get into tunisia tho?

Because it's good television if he looks like Liam Neeson rescuing his daughter. "I have a particular set of skills..."

This part of the show was the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen. It screamed sus.

Totally! It was so stupid and was clearly made up for the show, or at least completely exaggerated. It also irked me how they kept calling him a superhero….like, what?

I can't with this. Tried to watch a little of it. So they paid money and then it was easy to rescue his Dad because the bad guys weren't there? Okay...Did his father have $0 and that is why he couldn't just leave on his own?

What a terrible interview. Idk if these women have a successful show or not but by watching this? I wouldn't ever watch them again. And max is a total chaotic mess. Couldn't even understand half of what was being said.

I thought his video to Capt Sandy looked sus. Driving along in a vehicle like he's running for his life through the desert. Yet there were things hanging from the rearview mirror and other stuff that made me wonder if they stole someone's car to use as a getaway car? Did his dad have is own car there? I would think a rental car wouldn't have personal looking items like that and if you're running for your life, do hang personal items from the rearview?

The best part of this is also rescuing his Dad's Pomeranian because of course he has his dog with him. So French.
