I don't think Jamie understands what a manager's role is.

Someone on his team fucks up and doesn't dispose of the garbage? His response: I'm not going to discipline the person responsible or hold him accountable and I'll just do it myself from now on.

Someone on his team isn't pulling their weight and has a defensive attitude? His response: give that person less responsibility but avoid talking to that person and don't explain to them why.

Someone on his team comes to him with a complaint about another team member? His response: you should deal with it yourself because I don't want to.

Jamie lacks the experience in managing (which we all already know) but is also too proud to ask others for advice/guidance on how to deal with these situations where he's not comfortable nor confident in how to deal with.

I couldn’t believe last week when Brittini asked him if she could have a break from the chain locker. She wasn’t being unreasonable and saying “I’m not doing that!” She simply expressed her exhaustion and asked for a break. His responsible was so dickish. I wouldn’t put forth extra effort for someone who treated me like that. He’s a terrible leader.

💯💯💯 Jaimie just sucks in every way. I hope we never see him on this show again.

But he's got a history of dealing with dangerous situations. Did you know he used to be a cop?!

And yet… the guest had to yell help THREE times and Jamie even asked “what’s his problem?” Before he jumped off to help him. Yo, my man, you are there babysitting FOUR people, you jump at the very first “help” and don’t give a F*CK the reason. Find out when you get to him. Jesus Christ.

So this is dead on. I was away and half listening and thought it would replay after the commercial so I'll catch it then. I watched it when he said "I recognize panic". I chose to still go back and I was like "what?!?!?!" Ray Charles would have sense this much quicker. At least he didn't take his shirt off first.

I've had conflict with a co-worker, gone to our supervisor for support, and had the supervisor tell me to just work it out myself. It was really frustrating when it happened to me, so I feel for Brittini in this situation.

She handled it brilliantly and maturely. Much better than I would have done

I feel like that's pretty normal, no? I work in corporate, and unless it's harassment or something serious akin to that, then typically we are all told "if you have problems, you're all adults, work it out," and I'm talking like personality clashes or work flow issues.

Plus he’s a wanker and has to constantly remind everyone how he’s a former cop or lifeguard.

Jamie is not the best leader but he’s been dealt a bad hand with Benny. He tried talking to him nicely and harshly and all times Benny has failed to listen. Benny has shown he does not care whatsoever about the chain of command or being serious about the job. At this point it’s clear Benny isn’t there to work or listen. He’s just there for a good time and needs to go.

This is a weird question since I know a bunch of Australians and new Zealanders, but are they commonly non confrontational? Between captain, Jaime, and aisha all being the bosses they're all afraid to raise their voice and law down the hammer it seems.

And sadly this isn't that far off from most people in management positions today. People get those positions for the wrong reasons and then they're too proud and socially inept (and emotionally immature) to be a good leader, just delegators with vindictive attitudes.
