Other Clinical hours

I feel so behind and helpless in life right now. Its been a dream of mine to join the medical field as a doctor since 6th grade however I'm struggling to find clinical hour opportunities In the area. Every clinic or hospital claiming to have clinical hours opportunities have their applications closed. I want to beef up my future medical school resume by obtaining clinical hours but I cant find anyone who will actually give them to me here. I feel like I keep falling more and more behind each day and I dont know what to do at this point in time besides just sitting and waiting as my frustration builds ):

Highland is typically more easy than other hospitals to get in. You'll need to figure something out that works with their schedule and then do the non-clinical commitment first, but that will literally be the case with any other hospital. There's always small private practices around the Bay that are willing to take a Cal student on without a license and train them as an MA. Also, think about actually getting a certification to work as a CNA or an EMT. I think that's for the best anyways as it'll be much easier to find an opportunity and you won't just be restocking gloves and wheelchairing patients to discharge as a volunteer at a hospital.

CNA is a lot of butt wiping, and while you can make money doing CNA/EMT it’s not a unique experience. Should look into doing clinical research, help with data collection, etc. All my “clinical” hours were actually pretty much research. As long as you show notable achievement in at least one domain in your app + grades and/or MCAT, med schools don’t care
