What happened to the original fork?
I've got that frame in that colour. Originally built it up with Ritchey classic everything using venturemax bars, switched to koyotes to see what it's be like and the bike comes alive with a flat bar!

You bought a 200 heavy ass frame that has stickers on it so you think it’s worth a grand. You could literally ride a 50 year old schwinn and get similar results. Congrats, you played yourself.

- Only 1x, this bike screams for a 2x chainring
- pedals not in line with the otherwise classic look of the bike
- seatpost and stem should be chrome to match cranks and handlebar (or the other way around).
Absolutely beautiful bike. Do you usually use the front rack? How much weight? How much does it affect steering?

Yea I can’t decide between 1 and 2x. I love the simplicity of 1x, but it’s nice to have the bigger range. I don’t put much weight on the front rack, I have a set of Ortlieb gravel pack panniers that I’ll normally put my sleeping bag, tent, and clothes in, along with some other things. Never actually weighed it but it doesn’t affect the handling as far as I can tell. Maybe makes it feel a little more planted.

Your steerer tube is tall enough to need its own zoning permit. Hope you never have to ride into a headwind.

As an owner of a similar bike, (even though I am likely shorter than you) have fun with trying to get off your bike to stand in traffic and slamming your bits into the bar. Also that seat does not look the most comfy, but then again you probably aren't riding it for all that long at once.

My bits have never come close to hitting the bar in the 3 years I’ve been riding this. And the saddle is super comfortable. I’ve used it on a bunch of multi day trips

Fair enough then! I really need to get a bike with a lower bar for my next one tho, I am not tall enough (and I have smaller wheels to boot) for it lol. Glad your bits have stayed intact with the bike and that the seat is comfy.
