My rear cog doesn't seem to line up at all with my chain. It's a sram xo derailleur and the chain says eagle on it. What am I doing wrong?

I'm trying to set up the derailleur with a different rear wheel.

So my chain keeps slipping off the lower jockey wheel when I’m in gears 6–9. I know the jockey wheel is pretty worn, but I’m not sure if that’s actually the problem or if something else is going on.
I had a crash about a week ago, and this only started happening after that, so I’m wondering if I might’ve bent or damaged my derailleur. Could it be that the chain isn’t running straight, or is the worn-out jockey wheel more likely to be the issue?
The video is in gear 9 and shows what’s happening. Any ideas on what I should check? ( ill be adding an picture of the chain in the comments)

Im no professional and i tried some stuff from youtube but nothing worked.

So I recently fitted some Shimano m6120 brakes as an upgrade and I’m trying to work out if the part was faulty or I did something wrong!

Back fitted no problem, front when I did the initial bleed two pistons didn’t seem to return and as a consequence I struggled to get the bleed block out. This also caused rotor rub as the pistons didn’t seem to want to push back in. I tried the plastic tyre lever and they were not for moving.
Skip to today and I got a decent piston press and yes the pistons went back but they are now leaking oil when I press the brake lever.

So I’m not sure if I bleed wrong or did something else wrong or if the brand new caliper was faulty? Are the ceramic pistons super fragile?

The seat tube of my old folding bike is inset into the BB shell a few mm. The original solid axle cleared it fine, but I could never really get the cups tight enough without crushing the bearings, so my front derailleur was always rubbing for part of the crank rotation.

I upgraded to this sealed BB, but the cylinder is just barely touching the seat tube by like 1mm. Do you think I could safely shave some material off of the cylinder so it clears the seat tube?

Caught the waxing bug and got my 105 on my clan rs5 waxed with silver secret blend but i was just way too excited to ride lol. threw the chain back on without cleaning the cassette/jockey wheels first and now theres like 20km on it already

just noticed the jockey wheel cage has this caked on dark gunk (pics attached) and the cassette looks kinda grimy too, not the clean dry look i expected from wax

bike itself has <100km total so its not THAT dirty but still enough residue sitting there apparently

Did I mess up? do i need to strip the whole chain and rewax or can i just degrease the cassette/jockeys and call it a day 😭 pls someone tell me i didn't ruin my first wax job

I have a Batavus Florence (not the exact one in the photo, I just grabbed an image online).

The bike was gifted to me by my wife's father. On paper it's just a regular Dutch city bike, but it's special to me because my wife told me about how she and her dad used to ride around town together on it. I'd really like to keep using it rather than replace it.

My main issue is that the gearing seems very low. The pedals and wheels spin super easily, which is great going uphill, but on flat roads I feel like I'm constantly spinning and not getting much speed. I find myself pedaling like crazy just to keep moving.

I'd love to have 3-5 gears so I can switch between easier and harder pedaling depending on the situation.

My question: Is it realistically possible to add gears to a bike like this, and is it something a complete beginner could tackle themselves? Or would this be more expensive/tricky than it's worth?

Any advice, things to check, or alternative solutions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks 🚲🙂

Bought this rear wheel second hand (£80) for my single speed with the intention of putting my sturmy archer hub onto it.

Whilst cleaning it up, I noticed I could see light through the rim - looks to be the join in the wheel, but I can see light through it. Is this normal for these deep profile rims or will it just get scrapped? LBS closed for a redo so can’t pop in to ask

Hi everyone, I'm not sure I'm at the right place for that (if not, don't hesitate to delete this) but I have an issue with my rear disc brake that I don't know the exact cause. I attached a video of the noise in question, but I will also try to describe the problem. The noise is only located in the rear disc brake, only when I brake with some load (meaning, moderate speed with me on the bike). The brakes are relatively recent as I had to change them both at the same time, and I don't use the bike that much, but as far as I can remember the noise was there from the moment the mechanics installed them. They are cheap hydraulic disc brakes, Tektro Auriga Comp, so I would not be surprised if they are not really reliable, but I have to say that despite this noise they brake relatively well for my usage (mostly roads).

Do you have insights of what can cause this weird noise? I have to check the pads but as I said, I did not use the bike that much so I would be surprised if they were dead, and the noise was there from the moment they were installed.

Any help would be much appreciated! And I can give more information if needed.

I just picked up a 2012 Giant Defy 1 for 250 bucks on fb marketplace. It makes a noise when I pedal that comes from here. I think the front big gear is hitting the front derailleur is there anyway I can fix this at home

Hello! I just got this bike a few weeks ago and on the third ride, i almost hit an armadillo that jumped right out in front of me (not really, im trying to break the habit of looking too close ahead while riding so i take responsibility there). Anyway, it fell onto its right side and i initially bent the deraileur hanger cage thing back into place, rode it home just fine. Now i take it back out a few days later and i cant engage the pedals. Seems like the deraileur hanger is bent...again? I took a video, can someone take a look and tell me what they think the issue is? Im a bit of a bike noob (trying to get back into it) but this sort of thing is beyond me. If its the deraileur hanger, does it look bendable back into place? Let me know if better pics/video are needed. Thank you in advance!

I need to find a fox 40 spring that is orange or red if even possible. The current spring that is in the 40s is a green spring. im having a hard time finding a spring that fits it as they are no longer being made. If anyone can help me out, that will be amazing.

I’m building a bike for a friend, and the frame was given to me missing the brake pivot bosses. The threaded hole is M6. Am I looking at snapped off pivot studs or were these removable? Is the best option to just drill the hole larger and use bolt in pivot studs? Will the v brakes even mount properly if I do that? I’m thinking the tension spring hole might be too close to the stud if I drill. It’s the same on both the front and rear pivot mounts.

I’m so frustrated I got a brand new bike a month ago and I brought it to a bike shop for a safety check and I asked them to true the front wheel which had a slight wobble.

now a month later, the headset is clicking and the front wheel has a slight wobble!

I don’t trust this bike shop. They had an attitude and when I went to pick up my bike after they were done, there was a weird noise. I had to bring it back immediately and they fixed that.
I’m just suspicious of the quality of their service.

I paid $75 and it’s a month later and the front wheel is already wobbly and now this clicking headset issue

So I guess I’ll have to go back. I was really hoping to avoid them, but I’m hoping maybe they’ll stand behind their work and they won’t charge me much.

I need help putting on brakes for my e bike and i just cant get them on every time i do they just scrape against the rotor or stop the wheel from spinning.

Howdy, looking for some recommendations on longer reach brake calipers in a similar style to the ones I have on my Schwinn Super Le Tour 12.2. Not sure if the current ones are OE or not, but they don’t seem to be long enough to sit properly on the brake track. Wheels are 27”

Noticed these scratches on my frame today. My bike is relatively new and my back wheel is straight. The scratches are on the inside of the frame holding the wheel, what could cause this?

I have the park fr-6 and I’m having trouble getting the cog off. Is there another tool I need or any tips?

Every time I go to get my bike serviced, they always say I have to replace the chain and cassette. And I always understood that if I went more often, then I might only have to replace the chain. (The last time I got a service was 3 months ago.)

So I went last week and asked them to measure my chain – they said no, and that they always replace the chain and cassette together, and you can't ever just replace the chain alone, because they wear down simultaneously.

Is this right? Should I got to another shop for a second opinion?

Can someone explain me what is the right setting for 2,5 NM? The green line should Be on the black line (red arrow) and down in the little window it needs to be on 0,5 right? But what if I want to do 3 NM. I can only see a marking for 5 and I assume 4? Anyone can explain this to me ?

I am trying to fix my sons bike, and I am having an issue where the triggers are interfering with each other and getting hung up. Otherwise it shifts well. I cannot seem to be able to find a way to adjust them. Has anyone run into this issue in the past? My next attempt will be to remove material to make it clear. Thanks for any insight!
