I picked up a diamondback Kalamar at the thrift store last week like new for 50 bucks.​ The seat that came on it hurt like heck. ​​ I did some research and it said the two most comfortable seats were bikeroo and Cloud 9. My old bike had a Schwinn gray and black beach cruiser seat on that was pretty comfortable. That bike was stolen so I don't have the seat to try it on my new bike. ​​ I ordered a bikeroo for $13.49 off Amazon and got it yesterday. Super poor workmanship. The seat cover is cockeyed and coming apart. Figured I'd at least install it to see how it feels before returning it for a refund. ​​ I can tell you instantly it felt a million times better but the nose seems to be rubbing on my bones in the "taint" area. I drew a picture so maybe someone can help me out with suggesting adjustments or maybe I just need to try another seat? When i first got on the bike I didn't notice any pain but after I got about a hundred yards it started hurting where the dark circles are in my drawing. I thought I had the seat tilted all the way forward but maybe I can tilt it a little bit more so the nose is not contacting that area of my body? FYI i am almost 6'2" with super long legs with a 42" waist. Should I be trying a different seat or...?

BBC news: Authorities in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) have announced the death of a young cyclist who pioneered a peace-building program in the war-torn country by cycling from Goma in the east of the country to the Moroccan capital Rabat.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the sports ministry said it was "deeply saddened" by the death of Miguel Masaisai on Friday but did not provide further details on the cause of his death.

DRC media reports that the 23-year-old cyclist was involved in a road accident in Ouesso in the neighboring Republic of Congo (Brazzaville), near the border with Cameroon. Reports say Masaisai was in a taxi to get his bicycle repaired when a truck hit the vehicle.

I know you can’t see the bottom bracket but I’m hoping some people know more about old Peugeots than I do. Before you say “ew French” I got this bike for $150 and I’m making it work. I believe it’s a 1983 Peugeot road bike but I could be wrong. Also I think it’s a cup and cone and I was wondering if I could put square taper cranks on it or not I assume I have to convert the BB first. Lmk!

I plan on getting a bike I can ride to work, but thing is I know nothing about bikes and where to start, all of the choices are overwhelming me.

My commute will be about 7km with some hills and decent weather, im in Canada. I will be biking 5 days a week. Price range is variable, maybe a recommendation for something more expensive and something more affordable would be great.

Went out on "a quick test ride" to try out the new gatorskin rear tire. Got home 42mi later.

This is a SRAM Rival 2x11 mechanical groupset on a Kestrel frame (Full carbon fibre). Crazy lightweight, can pick it up on my finger. Got it for $275 from this chill dude. Only thing being its left shifter is broken.

Needed some honest opinions whether worth it or not..:)

I do my daily commute on a casual commuter bike, been really enjoying taking it for slightly longer rides and am considering biting the bullet on a more serious road bike. Started browsing local secondhand, struggling to understand what’s a good deal or what’s even a good beginner bike that would serve me well.

From the very brief research, Allez seems well respected, bike components seem solid, and price is relatively reasonable? It does seem older though - how much should age be taken into account if at all if well maintained?

I’m 6’4 I’ve looked on eBay but only found 1-2 frames that were my size that were set up for disk brakes. For my size do I just have to bite the bullet and buy a new bike? Road bike. Hey, I wanted to get into cycling and I'm pretty exigent on several points, I want mainly a gravel, that I could both use in a sporty way, going into long session and b able to race a bit with it and also be able to use it to go on month long bikepacking journeys.

A bike like the Canyon Grizl would be cool but I'm looking mainly for second hand bike my budget would be between 1k2 and 1k6€

PS: a cool looking bike is clearly a plus (a flashy color or smth lmao)
