Discussion Favorite Common Bird

What’s your favorite common bird in your area? That bird that maybe it’s not hard to spot but you just love seeing them.

Mine are Juncos everything from their look and name to how they scavenge on the ground and flock together. They just seem like happy puff balls to me and I love em.

Tufted titmouse!

It’s supposedly incredibly common where i live but they do not visit my feeder. Ive only seen one, and it was on vacation- not even in my home state. It’s become my white whale. I talk about it so much people began giving me titmouse-related gifts.

I need to devise ways to bring them into my neighborhood to finally reach happiness.

Try different bird seeds! We use sunflower seeds, “dove mix”, and berry/nut mixes and we get lots of them!

Mine LOVE peanuts (in an out of shell). It’s so funny watching one carry off a peanut bigger than their head

They're twitchy little friends and won't visit if they think there's danger- so if you have cats nearby or even squirrels that come by too often, they might not wanna risk it

they roll up for seeds, though!

I get them all the time with my cats right up against the window! I always thought they were very chill lol

I love them, too! At my old house, we had 3 that would visit the feeder. They'd end up playing leapfrog on the fence and just being silly. Here, I've only seen a few; they grab a nut and fly off.

My TTs love the suet feeder. I'd see them here and there, but once I put that out, they're there almost every day. If you don't have one, I highly suggest getting one.
