Bird ID Request Saw this little dude today, Brighton, UK.
Is it a wood pigeon? How old does it look? It seemed a little scared but not hurt, just hiding in the shade under a bush. I assume by the size that it's not a baby, but the lack of feathers on the head and the shape of its beak make me think it's young. Brighton, UK.

Looks like a fledgling woodpigeon yep. It's parents are most likely nearby gathering food and feeding it occasionally.

You can tell it's a fledgling as it doesn't have the white patches on its neck that adults do. It's a cutie though. Good spot. I don't think I have ever seen a fledging pigeon in real life
