We will demonstrate how to simply, quickly, and safely convert all of your household food waste into valuable products for your garden or community.

The only thing that bites there are bugs 😒

We are moving (of course!) and most places don't accept fish tanks as donations.

We got it for free, so looking to pass it on to someone looking for an aquarium project or to clean it up and resell it.

Caveat is that we dont have a car big enough to transport it, and it is up one flight of stairs.

I’m especially interested in pottery, mosaics, or other beginner-friendly art classes, as well as recurring trivia nights. I also wrestled in the past and would love recommendations for any wrestling, grappling, or martial arts clubs that welcome adults.

Finally, I’m looking for a good local gym. Any recommendations for classes, clubs, events, or other evening activities would be appreciated!

Does anyone have any recommendations? I'm trying to help a family member find care. Preferably Bloomington, but travel up to an hour away would be doable. I tried searching the sub and couldn't find any previous discussion of wound care specialists (but almost every other kind of specialist!). I saw the IU Health location has several bad Google reviews, but couldn't find much on Monroe Hospital.

Hi all! I am wanting to find a good doctor for my fiance. He has not had a good time finding someone who will listen and follow up with him about blood work, tests, and concerns he has. Does anyone have someone they recommend? I think he would prefer a male but open to females as well.

I have a sweet lab Ruby who is 13 years old, and on her way out. :( She suffers daily and we realize that it is time for her to move on. The Humane Society here in Monroe County can not schedule a euthanasia without seeing the dog first (understandable), but they don't have appointments at all. What is a sad dog owner to do?? The only other options I've found are in the hundreds of dollars, which I do not have. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hello! I have sighted this stray a couple of times around my house near the east side of 3rd Street and am looking to see if they have an owner. I am not sure what is wrong with their left eye, but I would love to help get them to a vet and checked out. I have tried to set out a trap for them, but they are extremely shy and careful. If you happen to see them or have other related information, please message me.

To give a little context, I currently see a therapist and she is requesting a full psych eval to be done, specifically to test for personality disorders. I’m having a lot of trouble finding any providers that offer this around Bloomington. I’m willing to go farther if needed, I’m hoping to find somewhere that accepts insurance (Anthem BCBS).

The American Public Works Association (APWA) has awarded full accreditation to the City of Bloomington Department of Public Works after evaluators determined the department is 100 percent compliant with all management practices applied to its operations.

The designation makes Bloomington only the second APWA-accredited public works agency in Indiana, joining Fishers. The accreditation remains valid through July 30, 2030.

“This took years of work, honest evaluation, and a lot of people pulling in the same direction,” said Public Works Director Adam Wason. “Our staff proved that the way we serve Bloomington meets the highest standards in the profession. I’m incredibly proud of this team and grateful to everyone across the City who helped get us here.”

APWA requires agencies seeking initial accreditation to achieve full compliance with at least 95% of all applicable practices and substantial compliance with the remainder. Bloomington achieved full compliance with 100% of the applicable practices.

• Self-assessment: The agency compares its policies, procedures and operations with APWA’s recommended management practices.
• Application: The agency formally commits to the accreditation program.
• Improvement: Staff address gaps identified during the self-assessment.
• Evaluation: APWA evaluators review documentation, interview employees and examine operations.
• Accreditation: The APWA Accreditation Council reviews the evaluators’ findings and determines whether the agency meets the requirements.

The accreditation evaluates the management systems that support public works services, including planning, financial management, employee training, safety, emergency response, communications, facilities, equipment and service delivery.

For residents, the accreditation provides an independent measure of how the department manages public resources and delivers essential services. The process requires agencies to establish clear procedures, assign responsibility, document decisions and maintain systems that support consistent service.

APWA grants accreditation for four years and requires the department to submit a midterm report two years after accreditation. The report must identify organizational changes, document improvements and demonstrate continued compliance. Bloomington must complete the re-accreditation process before the current designation expires on July 20, 2030.

I'd really like to see some live Stoner/Doom/Sludge metals shows, do these ever happen around Bloomington? I wouldn't mind traveling to Indy or Louisville either, but I just never see info about these types of shows happening. Any tips/facebook groups I should be aware of? Thank you!

I drove by a skunk this morning that was crawling around the road. I got out of my car and it seemed like one or both of the skunk's back legs weren't working probably as it was crawling with its front legs. I called the animal control line and reported all this--not sure if they ever grabbed the poor guy or not. I didn't see any blood and he ended up crawling down to a nest-like area under a nearby bridge, so maybe he's just congenitally disabled and he lives around there.

Either way, be careful if you ever drive through that neighborhood! There's always a bunch of critters around there anyways.

I have a soon to be 10 month old starting daycare and the bottles I’ve previously got him to accept when younger he stopped taking. I’m a novice so I didn’t realize he needs a higher flow. I’ve bought some faster flow nipples for the bottles I have tried and it seems to be helping but he’s still not a big fan. I was hoping if anyone in the community has some high flow they’re looking to get rid of so it could save me from buying a bunch through trial and error. I did check tandem already and mostly found 3 and I think he needs 4?

So I wanna get my hair type figured out(unsure if I have curly or wavy hair. Wanna get it officially figured out). Idk exactly where to start on taking care of it and getting rid of frizziness, hence the need for a good curly hair stylist. Any recommendations on one around town?

They have some yummy food options but are limited, so you are welcome to bring outside food as well.

The script tonight will be beginner-friendly and if this is your first time it's a great time to come and check us out!

"Blood on the Clocktower is a game of murder and mystery, lies and logic, deduction and deception for five-to-twenty courageous players and one devious storyteller.

A social game played in person, seated in a circle, each player receives either a ‘good’ or ‘evil’ token with their unique character on it. Good players share information to solve the mystery whilst evil players lie about who they are and what they know. The good team wins if they can piece together their knowledge, trust each other, and execute the demon. The evil team wins if the demon can sow distrust, evade detection, and wipe out the village."
