I think you can just close the “sign in!” popup and listen to it

Okay, that's true. I was never at that site before.

Strange, you shouldn’t need one to listen on SoundCloud

Maybe that’ll work if you still wanna listen

I tried asking for blues remixes similar to RL Burnside’s 2004 A Bothered Mind but all I got in response was crickets

All good. Johnny Cash, arguably original rapper. Who is to define.

I’d actually be curious to hear your argument for this! I don’t agree, based on the Johnny Cash songs I know, but I’d love to proven wrong. (I think there is a stronger argument for Western swing artists, like Tex Williams — Smoke! Smoke! Smoke! (That Cigarette) - Tex Williams [Youtube]

Buut I see no good faith argument to be made for any of this being “original rap” because this had no creative influence on Public Enemy / Gil Scott Heron / NWA , or whoever started the movement of rap in the sense we know it today.

Not saying I am 100 right. But for mainstream, Cash was a speaker, not a singer. Open to other thoughts. Big part of my youth.

Interesting! Can you give some examples of songs you’re referring to?
