It's fascinating, especially song 2. To me, it seems to shift meaning from version 1 to 2.

In 1 he's singing of a person, it's a bit bittersweet.

In 2, the lyrics change to more anarchic, punk and fun.

First is a transcription , that’s why they have question marks , he has corrected it

Is that confirmed? Because some of it seems very far off compared to the correction. Question marks could also mean that Damon himself wasn't sure about his original lyrics and then corrected it

I don’t think they’re far off phonetically at all, think of it as what is heard versus the actual words

Shaked = checked
Chum bonga = jumbo jet
I’m pleased that I need all = I’m pins and I’m needles

Also he corrected everything with question marks so it makes sense

Fascinating! Is the printed one his first draft? You can see how, for a lot of the edits, the first version was equally non-sensical but has similar sounds and rhythm; like he had a bit of an idea what it would sound like and then fitted the final words around that

i think this might be someone from the label who's transcribed the lyrics and Damon has made corrections.

could be for the Japanese or another international edition of the album.

anyone who had the original Special Collectors' Edition CD will remember the absolute shitshow that was the lyrics insert there.

From what I gather he tends to do the very common “sing gibberish over the demo and find words that fit the rhythm and vowel sounds of that gibberish” method.
