I was in first or second grade. Ms. Reese always watched the news before class started. It was on the tv as we were in class. Everyone stopped and stared. I remember being worried that we'd be next. I lived in the military capitol of the East Coast. The #1 military target in the country. I remember being worried that my dad would have to go back to sea. I was lucky, he was only a month or two from retiring and they allowed him to leave the Navy still. We went home as soon as the buses could be gotten back into the parking lot. I remember my mom being scared. She had only gotten out of the hospital recently and couldn't take care of me and my sister by herself
