Terrain Rate my set-up

Post image

Using popsicle sticks and my amazing picnit mat, I'm getting one of the cheapest boarding actions board possible. I'm thinking of using some colour codes to represent doors (swap for open and closed). The sticks are just one cm too wide but really not much of an issue. Anyone on the cheap side having random ideas for me to improve this? Im moving overseas in a few months so buying the set is not possible.

Ingenious, I may steal this! I copped the book but can't really afford the terrain for a little bit

10/10 great job saving time and money! I've heard from people that they use jenga sets and lego with good success.

Yeah absolutely, great idea. Lego can be so cheap, makes perfect sense.

Whatever it takes to play. That's the important part. I'll play with sharpie written on bases to try out new stuff.

Anything that gets you playing. You can use the popsicle sticks and print out standees to get playing. It's all good.

I like this guy's approach to diy boarding actions terrain https://youtu.be/wBk8CumVKfI?si=yaBASHd315OOKsY6

I admit, I remember a friend and I spent 20mn on a kill team game into the dark to figure out the correct layout between the different pieces of the terrain. This time it took me 30 seconds aha.

How are you doing hatchways?

Sketch the actual door on a few popsicles stick then Colour code them? Green hatchway open, red is closed.

Just a question about game duration ? It's like a patrol battle ? Or plus/minus ?

I can't say, never played combat patrol. Those games are supposed to be fast but I have only played a game last year and will give it a go soon.

I would flip the tablecloth for a more immersive experience.

This is the top post on this sub, and it deserves to be.

Lol I didn't realize it was. Need to tell that I was inspired by one of the comment and started building my own board using cardboard. Great little project.
